CATCH UP BLOGGING!

Crocusandcandlelight.jpg
Well, It's been so busy the last two weeks that my poor blog has been neglected!
I have some new pics too and will fill you in on my adventures!
I'm going once a week to the Go Getters centre to learn Swedish Embroidery. It can be used to create afghans, wall hanging, runners, cushions, etc. The design I'm working on is called "Sherwood Forest" and I chose a pastel variegated wool to do it in. The actual pattern will be a reflection of the trees I have completed so far plus some extra designs to balance it. When it's finished I'll take a pic! I started it in November but it's coming along a lot faster now as I get the hang of it!

This is a close up of my Sherwood Forest design--just a small part of it. It will look good when done!

Break for lunch!!

We are getting so many birds at our feeder it's just like a movie show!! The feeder is hanging just outside our kitchen dining area window. Here they come! The most prevalent species are the chickadees and lately both pine and evening grosbeaks. Pine grosbeaks have beautiful red breasts and some red on theid wings and black and white striped wings. Evening grosbeaks are usually yellowey beige on their breasts and have darker wings. We have little nuthatches with their yellow breasts and which often hang upside down to feed! Redpolls are other visitors with their little red caps. We h ave sparrows and pine siskins too. We are very lucky to have such built in entertainment1 Our cat,Molly, thinks so as well! Not for her any TV shows--she has her own!
Here is a pic of the birds and also of Molly.

This is Molly's "tent"! She loves to crawl under this piece of folded up paper and either lays inside it or just hangs out and pretends she's camping!

I hope this pic of Marie will turn out on my blog. It was taken when we lived on Philip Street in the 70's. Back in the good old days!

Here's another pic that Margot got me to scan for her blog--see her blog fot her entry. They won a competition --the library was running one --how you met your partner! Roy let her know about it so she sent in her entry. Way to go!!

Well, that is all the pics--I'll check them and then get on with the written part of my blog!

Catch up news on stupid ulcer!
We went up to Winnipeg to see the venous specialist again. He has changed the type of dressing to a drier type using a medicated Bactigras gauze over it plus gauze dressings and tape. I then developed a blood blister under my big toe when we got home--honest to Pete! so now that is all padded up1 I am really fighting this but at times I growl a lot!! I find it hard to walk right now and have orders to keep my leg up as much as possible.

Well, just checked the site and some of the pics didn't turn out!
I'll try again--hang on!

Let's hope these two pics worked! they were taken at the Go Getters centre by Carolyn Stratford, a retired teacher from Albert St. school. and we were all busy working away! We have the class from 9am to 11:30am and then there is a great lunch--soup, home meade, sandwiches and cake for only $5! Great for all us pensioners!

Lat weekend we had Cary, Cheryl and Thomas over for supper and I tried a recipe for "Bean Stuff"!
Even Cary, the ultimate critic liked it! I made a salad too with poppyseed dressing and spinach and mandarin orange segments, it was good! For dessert as a treat I made home made meringues, fresh strawberries and whipped cream. We all pigged out--after all, it was weekend!
